Meet Andre Turcotte – Course Director & Passionate Educator
I was born in Canada, and my journey into the underwater world began in 1992 during a vacation in the Dominican Republic. That very first dive changed everything. I was instantly captivated—the feeling of weightlessness, the peaceful silence, the vibrant corals, and the incredible marine life. I knew right then that diving would become a lifelong passion.
Since that moment, I've had the privilege of diving all over the world. I’ve always been committed to growing as a diver, constantly pushing myself to learn more. My curiosity turned into something I jokingly call a “knowledge addiction,” and diving was no exception. One course led to another, and before I knew it, I was taking my Divemaster training—not with the intention of turning professional, but simply to deepen my understanding of the diving world.
But something unexpected happened. While assisting instructors during training, I discovered that I absolutely loved teaching. More than that, I had a natural ability to explain concepts clearly and support new divers with patience and enthusiasm. That experience lit a new fire in me.
So I took the leap and became a PADI Instructor in 2010, making the switch from another agency (Tuac) and beginning my teaching journey in beautiful Koh Tao, Thailand. I stayed there for two incredible years, sharing my love of diving with students from around the world.
Eventually, personal circumstances brought me back to Canada—but my passion for teaching never left. I continued to grow, taking on new challenges and certifications. Today, I’m proud to be a PADI Course Director, teaching 22 specialties, including Tec Trimix, and serving as an EFR Instructor Trainer. I’ve been a full-time instructor since 2010 and honored to be recognized as a PADI Elite Instructor every year.
Now, I’ve returned to where my teaching journey began—back in my beloved Thailand. I’m grateful every day to be doing what I truly love, and I bring the same devotion, calmness, patience, and energy to my courses as I did on day one.
When you join my Instructor Development Course (IDC), the first thing you’ll hear from me is this: My goal isn’t just to help you pass your exam. It’s to make you the best instructor you can be. I want to give you every tool and bit of knowledge you need to build a successful, fulfilling career in diving.
When I run an IDC, it becomes my full focus. You’ll have my time, support, and expertise—every step of the way. I’ll be there to answer every question, help you through every challenge, and celebrate every win.
If you're ready to take the next step in your diving career, I’d be honored to be part of your journey. Come train with us—you’ll gain not only a certification, but a truly memorable, life-changing experience.
